Obligatory Civil Liability Further information

In accordance with Spanish Royal Decree 607/1999 of 16 April, Civil Liability is guaranteed in which, through fault or negligence, it may be incurred by:

  • The boat owner.
  • The skippers.
  • The skiers pulled along by the boat.

The insured limits for this type of incident are those established in Spanish Royal Decree 607/1999 of 16 April: €336,566.78 - broken down as follows:

  • €240,404.84 for personal damages with a limit per victim of €120,202.42
  • €96,161.94 for material damages.
Legal Assistance and Bail Bonds Further information

The constitution of legal bail bonds is guaranteed for civil liabilities when the object of the claim is covered by this policy.

The Insurer will take charge of the legal supervision against the claim of the alleged injured party and will pay the corresponding fees and invoices of costs accredited by the lawyers and solicitors appointed by the same.

Complementary to Obligatory Civil Liability, there is the option to increase the limits insured in Civil Liability.

For boats that are more than 12 metres long, it is recommended as the €96,161.94 provided by Obligatory Civil Liability for material damages may be insufficient.

Reimbursement of assistance or towage costs that may be incurred by the insured in the event of an accident at sea, technical breakdown or any other reason that justifies the need to be towed to the nearest port.

Onshore assistance offers the following

  • Assistance to people: Repatriation or transport of people due to illness or physical accident, healthcare services abroad, repatriation or transport due to death, sending medication, transmitting urgent messages 24 hours a day, repatriation, transport and assistance to people due to boat breakdown or accident, medical advice, sending a pilot or skipper, medical advice.
  • Assistance to boat: Towage of the boat, transfer of the boat to the port, transport costs of the insured to collect their boat, sending replacement parts, sending a specialist mechanic, storage fees of the boat.

The exercise in favour of the Insured of the appropriate out-of-court and legal actions to obtain compensation for the harm and damages they have suffered from a liable third party.

Advancement of the compensations which, after out-of-court actions taken by the Company, are formally recognised as being owed by the Insurers that are liable for the accident, up to a limit of €6000

This guarantee is highly recommended because collisions in ports are very common and it is often necessary to claim damages from the party responsible for the collision. If this guarantee is not covered, we are alone against the Insurer of the party that caused the damage.
