Obligatory Travel Insurance
In the majority of cases, Obligatory Travel Insurance must be taken out for recreational boats intended for hiring.
Special conditions
Many Maritime Authorities only require it for List 6 vessels hired out with a professional crew, but given how extensive the cover is, many charter companies also take it out when their boats are hired without a crew.
Different things are required depending on the region issuing the charter permits. For example, the Balearic Islands require insurance be taken out in accordance with the provisions of Article 6.1 h) of the Order of the Department of Public Works, Housing and Transport of 15 December 2004: BOIB (Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands) No. 181. At Brokmar, we can find an immediate solution to these requirements.
We offer a very competitive total premium with the following limitations per occupant:
- Death: €36,060.73
- Permanent and absolute disability: €42,070.85
- Health care: Unlimited
These conditions are applicable both for Obligatory Travel Insurance for List 6 recreational vessels as well as for List 2 vessels, commercial ships and passengers ships.
Obligatory Travel Insurance is regulated in Spanish Royal Decree 1575/1989 of 22 December. The text can be downloaded from the following link if required:
